A-Button Jewelry / Prototype / Commissioned by Dahab Gallery / 2012
When asked to participate in a men’s jewelry exhibit, the response was to address jewelry as a substitute to the existing men’s established elements; jewelry as a necessary ornament. By focusing on the shirt button, the desire was to re-configure that element by disguising it with another. A textured silver piece made with a small hidden spring mechanism is retrofited onto the existing button. The new piece sits over, hides and finally re-configures the old button. The shirt keeps its logic of the button series; however, the odd one stands out. The shimmering ornament is thus generated by its mere difference.

Wine Cellar Restaurant / Beirut / 2012
Off-the-shelf flooring material is transformed into a display element by a simple rotation. As a result, wine bottles cantilever and get displayed. The outcome is a gridded bottle display sandwiched between the restaurant’s yellow stone surface and the crossed metal and glass enclosure.
